History
From strong roots grow great things. The story of Cherrington Easingwood Kearl dates back to 1972 when its founding partner, Donald L. Nundal, son of well-respected Langley veterinarian and previous Mayor, Elfrod Nundal, joined forces with David G. Bell to open their office in the birthplace of British Columbia, Fort Langley. John A. Cherrington joined as a partner in 1976, after articling with Davis LLP. Following his articles with Nundal, Bell & Cherrington, Hank Easingwood became a partner to establish the firm Nundal, Cherrington & Easingwood. Robert B. Kearl followed suit in 1981, by joining the firm as an articled student and later as a named partner.
The firm saw many changes throughout the years, including fluctuations in size from four lawyers to fourteen, and the eventual retirement of its founding partner, Donald L. Nundal. Part of the firm's history came full circle when R. Henry Easingwood's daughter, Erin J. Easingwood, joined the firm in May, 2005. Sadly, the firm suffered a great loss when R. Henry (Hank) Easingwood died on August 17, 2009 after a four year journey with cancer.
Nundal Cherrington Easingwood Kearl operated offices in both Fort Langley and the City of Langley for many years until they eventually closed their City of Langley office in 1999. Throughout its time in the Langleys, the lawyers of the firm have been well known for their ability to service clients both big and small from all over the Lower Mainland, while continuing to respect the identity of the community and traditions of the area.
On February 1, 2011, Cherrington Easingwood Kearl was pleased to announce that it had joined forces with one of its lead competitors in the area, and commenced doing business as Lindsay Kenney LLP. It is not without some nostalgia that the firm will see the close of the Fort Langley office later this year, but the familiar faces of the "Fort Law Office" look forward to joining their Langley colleagues of Lindsay Kenney at their Langley office in August, 2012.
